Memories 2020

The theme for this week is Memories 2020.
The Husband and I have stayed in lock down since March and it has been a difficult year for us, as it has for so many people.
Without the beautiful New Forest right on our doorstep it would have been even more difficult, but we are very lucky and these photos are from one of our favourite walks that we have particularly enjoyed.  It is usually a campsite but has been closed all year and hardly anyone has been visiting it so we've had it almost all to ourselves!

Decorations

The theme for this week is Decorations -
so I chose old vintage baubles that hold lots of festive memories!

December

The theme for this week is December,
and the last of the blackberries are hanging on to life in this mild weather.

Brown

This week the theme is brown.
A handful of my favourite Honiton lace bobbins, lots of
different woods and patterns.

Stripes

Stripes is the theme for this week.
Here's my small collection of stripey things - beads, fabric and china.

Lazy

The word for this week is 'lazy'.
What better on a grey, wet day than lazing with a good book and a cuppa!

Tuesday 10 November 2020

November

 November is this week's challenge.
On a cold but sunny walk this week I collected some delicious Sweet Chestnuts.
I do love their fuzzy cases!

Round

Round is the word for this week.
I spilt these while filling the pepper mill!  I really like the mixed
colours of them so I decided to use them for this weeks challenge.

Hobbies

Hobby is the theme for this week,
and I've been doing some water colour painting and trying to
make a special card for my sister's birthday.
I haven't painted for quite a while and have enjoyed the practice!

Colourful

Colourful is the theme for this week.
We came across this little church nestled in a corner of the New Forest,
while we were out for a walk this week.
It had been decorated for an Autumn wedding and I fell in love with
the colours of the floral arrangements.  I only had my phone with me so the photos aren't too good but they are colourful!

October

The theme for this week is October.
The garden is now full of berries and seed heads,
but there are one or two Anemone Japonica flowers left -
the very last flowers in the garden.

Sky

This week the challenge is 'Sky'.
This photo was taken quite a while ago while on a walk along our local beach.
The sun suddenly burst through the grey clouds quite spectacularly.

Something Important

This week the theme is 'something important'.
These three little Guinea Pigs are important members of our family,
so I wanted to take some photos of them that were better than the usual snapshots.
It was difficult - they wriggled a lot and had to have railings around the table to stop them falling off the edge!

The two girls are Blossom and Betsy...

...and this is our boy Bertie

September

'September' is the theme for this week.
I have started harvesting some of the pears on our tree this week -
it's been a good year for them.
I shall cook them up with ginger and add an oat crumble topping - a perfect winter treat!

Signs of Autumn

The challenge for this week is 'signs of Autumn'.
Rosehips in the garden are a sure sign that Autumn is on the way.
It seemed to happen quickly this year - one minute beautiful scented flowers and the next these stunning red hips.

Summer Memories

This week the theme is 'summer memories'.
I have spent a lot of time over the summer in this quiet, shady corner of the garden - it's beautifully secluded and not overlooked by anyone, and can't be seen from the house.  It's where I can contemplate life and collect my thoughts, sit and read a good book or relax with a cool drink.
Some happy memories despite a lock down summer!
