Moments

 

This week the theme is Moments.

This little chap has made his home in our local and very large garden centre - he often visits the customers in the cafe looking for crumbs - he stopped by our table for quick visit but realised we only had drinks, so he quickly moved on the next table!  The owners have a sign up asking people not to feed him but quite a few can't resist his charms so I don't think he'll be moving out into the big wide world very soon!  He's not injured, he was just resting his other leg!!

Welcome Autumn

 Autumn is here - and what better way of welcoming it than with a big pot of Butternut Squash and Orange soup on the hob, and some pumpkin and crab apple decorationsl!

Something with Stripes

 This week the theme is Something with Stripes. 

I have just finished reading a wonderful book by one of my favourite authors.  I think a decorative book adds to the overall enjoyment of reading it and I've occasionally had to purchase a book simply because I love the cover!

On The Table

These tulips are the last remnants of a bunch of flowers I was given - I think they  still have a beauty all of their own.

Lovely Summer

 This week the theme is Lovely Summer.

Last year my dear friend gave me a tin tub with this pretty succulent plant in it.  I had no idea it would bloom and was thrilled to see these little pink flowers opening up on it this week.

Past Times

 This week the theme is Past Times.  

I love the workmanship on this beautiful old Singer sewing machine - I wish they decorated modern ones like this!

 My lovely blog friend Lynn has a collection of wonderful rusty objects in her garden and she inspired me to photograph my old sewing machine outdoors - although it did come back indoors when I had finished!

Looking Down

 This week the theme is Looking Down. 

 We live a short drive away from Exbury Gardens and this is the perfect time of year to catch their Wisteria in all it's glory.  The last picture is taken from the steps looking down at some of the glorious racemes as they reach the ground.

The garden is full of these invasive Spanish Bluebells - they are nearly all blue but amongst them are one or two beautiful white ones.

This vintage box of talcum powder was a flea market find and I just love the beautifully decorated lid and decorative text!

April

 April always sees me moving away from the earthy autumn colours that I naturally gravitate towards and love working with, and moving towards bright greens, yellows and pinks.

These piles of felt, velvet and pleated silk are all ready for me to start some Spring inspired embroidery, collages and textile jewellery.

 This week the theme is Signs of Spring, and Pussy Willow is always a wonderful signal that Spring is here!

 This week the theme is March.

 I had these photos ready for last week's theme which was Round.  However I spent last Tuesday thinking it was Monday so missed the challenge!

These pretty microgreens are peas and are still growing on my windowsill - they will be ready to eat very soon.

Things That Make Me Happy

 This week the theme is 'things that make me happy'.

One of the things that I love doing is photography - it is so enjoyable to gather together some special treasures and have a little photo session, and I have especially had a lot of pleasure from joining in with this challenge each week.

 I have recently added another vintage inkwell to my collection - I can't resist a nice inkwell - so out came the camera and I had a happy afternoon!
