Thank You

 The theme for this last week of MakroTex is Thank You.

Sad to see it go but very appreciative of having had the opportunity to not only participate, but enjoy the beautiful photographs of others.

Things That Make Me Happy

 This week the theme is 'things that make me happy'.

One of the things that I love doing is photography - it is so enjoyable to gather together some special treasures and have a little photo session, and I have especially had a lot of pleasure from joining in with this challenge each week.

 I have recently added another vintage inkwell to my collection - I can't resist a nice inkwell - so out came the camera and I had a happy afternoon!

Lovely Colours

 This week the theme is Lovely Colours.

I am trying to sort out my yarn baskets - each one is filled with a different colour palette and each one is overflowing!  I am not having much luck - I love this basket of autumn coloured yarn and can't bring myself to get rid of any of these gorgeous colours!

Orange

This week's challenge is 'orange', and this is one of the last 

Geum flowers I have left in the garden.  

They give such a  lovely bright splash of colour.

Orange Gilded Eggs

An enjoyable past time - 

dying eggs orange and gilding them for

the MakroTex challenge  

Orange Feathers and Marbled Books

I found a beautiful orange feather 

while sorting out my studio.

I also found a very old marbled book in a charity shop.

Somehow they seemed to go together.

Colors of 2013 - the finale

I have so enjoyed taking part in Eva Ricci's Colors of 2013 this past year.  The standard of the participating photographers is extremely high and I must admit I was rather intimidated by their professionalism and photographic abilities.  However, the group have been wonderfully supportive and encouraging, and working alongside them has certainly encouraged me to push myself harder and I've definitely learnt a lot!  I have learnt to be more caring of setting up the shots and getting the details right, and I've been more experimental in lighting and angles of shots - it's been a very enjoyable creative journey.

The challenge is changing for 2014, so I thought I would post my photo collages from 2013 and say a big Thank You to Eva Ricci!
