Something with Stripes

 This week the theme is Something with Stripes. 

I have just finished reading a wonderful book by one of my favourite authors.  I think a decorative book adds to the overall enjoyment of reading it and I've occasionally had to purchase a book simply because I love the cover!

Orange Feathers and Marbled Books

I found a beautiful orange feather 

while sorting out my studio.

I also found a very old marbled book in a charity shop.

Somehow they seemed to go together.

Colours of 2015 - Lavender

The colour lavender for April's photography challenge - 
I found a bunch of dried lavender from last summer,
and I had a mixed box of macaroons from Mademoiselle Macaron.
How lucky I hadn't eaten the lavender ones, although they disappeared pretty quickly after the photos were taken!

Colours of 2015 - Mint

 This month's colour for the Colours of 2015 challenge was mint green.  I didn't plan to photograph it with red, but I found I rather liked the little dash of red on the specs, and then I found the mug at my local DIY store and it fitted the theme perfectly.  I would never normally put mint and red together but I'm rather taken with it!
