I love nests, eggs, birds, feathers, insects and any quirky, unusual or dead things I might come across. So when I found a dead sparrow on my patio a few weeks ago I went through a mixture of emotions starting with sadness and then turning to excitement at the opportunity to photograph it! I think this little sparrow was in the process of being eaten by a Sparrowhawk, as we've been seeing one around our area lately - and I prefer to think of him providing a much needed meal, rather than dying as a cat's play thing!

Colours of 2015 - Mint
This month's colour for the Colours of 2015 challenge was mint green. I didn't plan to photograph it with red, but I found I rather liked the little dash of red on the specs, and then I found the mug at my local DIY store and it fitted the theme perfectly. I would never normally put mint and red together but I'm rather taken with it!

Colours of 2015 - Raspberry Part 2
Despite the colour raspberry being so difficult this month for the Colours of 2015 photography challenge, I couldn't quite let go of it, and decided to continue with a slightly more vintage feel. You can see my first set of raspberry pink photos here.

Colours of 2015 - Raspberry
For February our chosen colour for the Facebook photography challenge was Raspberry. This is not a colour I have around me or one that I usually work with in my art, so I knew it was going to be tough. However, my love of food came to the rescue and I found chocolate mini eggs wrapped in beautiful dark pink foil, dark chocolate covered in raspberries, strawberries and rose petals, some raspberry flavoured macaroons, and cupcake cases in bright contrasting colours with a hint of raspberry pink!

Colours of 2015 - White
The photographic challenge I've been taking part in has changed from themes to colours for this year. January's colour is white and as I'm pretty certain we won't be getting snow during the warmest January we've had since records began I have found a collection of little treasured objects with a white theme instead.
I am linking up with Mosaic Monday over at Lavender Cottage this week.

Our Beautiful World
This week I thought I would link up with Our Beautiful World - the theme is prickly. Sea Holly is such a beautiful plant - I love that shade of blue, but it has to have the sharpest prickles in the garden!

Themes of 2014 - Pumpkins, Harvest
For October's challenge we were given the subject of pumpkins and harvest. I decided to go out into the forest and see what might be ready to be harvested - I didn't find the crab apples I was expecting to, but I did come back with a bag full of sweet chestnuts - delicious!
