This week the theme is November.
I was given an acorn vase recently - so I found an acorn.
I soaked it in water for 24 hours, wrapped it in kitchen towel until it sprouted and then placed it on the acorn vase and waited.
I don't associate November with new beginnings but this is my first attempt at growing a tree and so far it's going well!
What an interesting idea and a thought, maybe November could be the beginning of something new.

I was stumped on November, because it's sort of the middle of Spring here and just the lead up to xmas party season - and then I went to my first Diwali dinner - so for some, November is a new beginnings (and this year is def a year to want to shake off the old and start fresh!!!)
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I didn't know there was a special vase for acorn. I tried to grow one this autumn but I didn't really know how to do it so I just kept it soaking in the water and then noticed there was mould in the jar and I got fed up and threw it away...
ReplyDeleteSuch an interesting idea & trial! I have grown some spruces or pines from seed. They germinated allright but did not survive the next winter.
